Besides the full studio service (Software House), Respawn Society also provides freelance developer services for companies and teams that need extra technical capacity on a flexible basis. This article explains that service in detail.

Who is this freelance service for?

  • Startups that need an additional developer without hiring full-time yet.
  • In-house teams that need specific expertise for the short term (for example infrastructure migration or performance audits).
  • Other agencies that need sub-contractor capacity for a particular project.
  • Solo founders who already have a design but need technical hands.
  • Companies that want a pilot project before a big commitment.

Available skill sets

Our team covers the spectrum of modern stacks widely used in Indonesia:

  • Web frontend: Next.js, React, Vue, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
  • Web backend: Node.js, Laravel/PHP, PostgreSQL, MySQL
  • Mobile: Kotlin (Android native), Swift (iOS native), Flutter, React Native
  • DevOps and infra: Linux VPS, Docker, Nginx, GitHub Actions, CI/CD
  • Design: Figma, design systems, UI/UX research
  • Specialty: payment gateway integration (Midtrans, Xendit, Duitku), AI/ML wrapping (OpenAI/Anthropic API), offline-first sync

Available engagement models

Hourly (rate per hour)

Suitable for small work that is hard to scope upfront — debugging, short consultations, or ad-hoc tasks. Our rate is transparent, with hour tracking via Toggl/Clockify that clients can audit.

Project-based (fixed scope)

Suitable when the scope is clear: "build page X with feature Y in Z weeks." You get a fixed price with clear milestones, plus a revision guarantee.

Retainer (monthly)

Suitable for long-term cooperation with consistent technical needs. You lock in a monthly developer-hour allocation (for example 40 or 80 hours), at a more economical hourly rate than ad-hoc hourly work.

How we work

  1. 01Brief — you send the scope of your needs via email or WhatsApp.
  2. 02Matching — we pick the developer with the most suitable skills.
  3. 03Discovery call — 30 minutes, free, with the developer who will handle the work.
  4. 04Quote and timeline — we send an itemized estimate within 1-2 working days.
  5. 05Kickoff — a short contract, an NDA if needed, then work begins.
  6. 06Daily or weekly updates — based on your preference, via Slack/WhatsApp/email.

Frequently asked questions

Can you sign an NDA and a formal contract?

Yes. We regularly sign NDAs and PKWT/cooperation contracts with corporate clients. A tax ID and tax invoices are available for clients who need them.

Can you work on-site at our office?

Our default is remote. But for clients in Greater Jakarta, we can occasionally be on-site for workshops, kickoffs, or sprint reviews — arranged case by case.

What is the minimum engagement?

Hourly: 4 hours minimum. Project: no minimum amount — as long as the scope is clear. Retainer: 1 month minimum.
